Overview
Corva is a web app for independent barbers. It connects to their Acuity or Square booking system, spots the open slots in their week, and texts past clients who are due for a cut so those slots fill. It also turns their booking history into revenue dashboards and weekly reports. I co-founded Corva and build it with a small team.
Challenge
Barbers stay booked through hustle: posting, texting regulars, and guessing which clients have drifted away. Corva had to pull years of appointments from two different booking systems reliably, decide who to message and when, and present the numbers simply enough to act on, all behind a subscription.
Approach
Booking data flows through one sync pipeline with an adapter per booking system: appointments are fetched in week-sized ranges, retried on failure, queued per barber so months never sync twice at once, and rolled up into daily, weekly and monthly totals. Client-selection rules decide who gets a reminder, and an AI model drafts the weekly and monthly reports from those totals.
Solution
A 21-day free trial into a Stripe subscription, onboarding that links Acuity or Square, the Auto-Nudge SMS engine with booking alerts, a dashboard of revenue, profit, average ticket, service breakdown and marketing funnels, expense tracking, AI-written weekly and monthly reports, and an admin area for system logs, message engagement and feature releases. My part covered the subscription billing and webhooks, route protection, booking-sync performance, the yearly dashboard and the AI reports.
