About
I build websites and software so you can focus on your business.
I'm Austin Bartolome, an independent web developer and designer. I work with small businesses, organizations and individuals to plan, design and build websites and web applications.
Working with me means working with one person from start to finish. The person who asks about your goals is the same person who designs the pages, writes the code and hands over the finished project.
How I approach a project
- 01
Start with the people using it
Before designing anything, I want to understand who your customers are and what they're trying to get done. Good structure comes from that, not from a template.
- 02
Keep it plain
You shouldn't need to learn technical vocabulary to get a website built. I explain decisions in everyday terms and ask questions when something isn't clear.
- 03
Build it to last
I use well-supported, standard tools and write tidy, documented code, so your project is easy to maintain — by me or by anyone else later.
- 04
Be honest about scope
If a simpler or less expensive option would do the job, I'll say so. The goal is the right solution, not the biggest one.
Projects I enjoy most
- Websites for local businesses and community organizations that need to look as professional as they are.
- Internal tools and dashboards that replace a tangle of spreadsheets, emails and sticky notes.
- Redesigns where clearer structure and better mobile layouts make an immediate difference.
Tools I work with
- Next.js
- React
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- Tailwind CSS
- PostgreSQL
- Figma
